Woodstock

The Woodstock Festival was a music festival that attracted over 400,000 people, held on a dairy farm in upstate New York from August 15-18, 1969. During the sometimes rainy weekend, 32 acts performed outdoors, including the Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Who, and Jimi Hendrix (pictured). It is widely regarded as a pivotal moment in music history, as well as the definitive nexus for the larger counterculture generation.
